It's Denard Robinson 's world, we're all just loving watching every single second of it.

Whether you're a fan of the Michigan Wolverines or not, if you enjoy college football then there is no excuse for not being amazed at the feats of the Wolverines quarterback through the first two weeks of action.  After watching Robinson torch the Connecticut Huskies to the tune of 383 yards last weekend, the kid they call "Shoelace" picked up where he left off against Notre Dame .

He then surpassed his own ridiculous example.

By the time the dust settled on Michigan's 28-24 victory over the Irish, Robinson had amassed 502 yards of total offense.  Yes, you read that right, 502 yards.  Five - oh - two.  Most college football teams don't pick up that kind of yardage in a single game.  When Robinson wasn't picking the Notre Dame secondary apart for 244 yards he was letting his legs do the talking, and they talked alot.

Robinson set a new record for must rushing yards by a Big Ten quarterback with 258 yards on the ground, including an 87-yard scamper for a touchdown at the end of the first half, and a two-yard touchdown run to give the Wolverines the lead in the final minute.

Now, it's darn near impossible for a college football player to win the Heisman Trophy after only two games, but as of now if you don't think Denard Robinson is the clear cut favorite to take home the sport's most prestigious award, then you just haven't been watching.  In two games he's tallied 885 yards and five touchdowns.

What other player in all of college football has even come close to those numbers?

Granted, there's no guarantee that Robinson will be able to keep this pace up for the entire season -- if he does he'll finish the regular season with 5,310 total yards -- and to expect him to do so is somewhat ridiculous.  Still, after watching his first two games as Michigan's starting quarterback, you wouldn't be surprised if he did, either.

Cue the Denard Robinson Heisman campaign

Sorry...if you can't see that he's a different player this year from last year, no one can help you.  He NEVER played this way against mediocre teams last year.  I get the whole default buckeye hate for michigan, but in this case it makes you look foolish and I have no dog in that fight.

502 yards from a QB should result in much more than 28 pts.

Let's wait until he plays against a defense.  ND and Brian Kelly aren't known in recent years for putting together elite defenses.  Still, it's good to see Michigan competitive again.

I hope Michigan is undeafted when you come to Columbus.  Defense my freind defense is the key.  Michigan does not have much of one.  They have not been tested as of yet so we will see.  DR is one heck of a player but if he has to run that much he will not last season in the Big ten.
It is good for the Big 10 for Michigan to be back but they were 4-0 last year and it went south so lets wait and see.  And the Domers weren't much of a test.

Denard is something us Wolverine fans have been waiting for for a long time. I can't remember if we have EVER had a scrambling QB for us.. Brady? No, Grbac? No, Forcier? No, anybody else? No! He fits the offense well and he is working with a great host of quick RB's and WR's. Lets just hope he can keep it up for the rest of the season AND he can do the same thing against Ohio State at the end of the season. Look out Pryor, WE COMIN FOR YOU!!!!

Cue the Denard Robinson Heisman campaign

It's a little early to be handing out Heisman's.  I remember Kyle Orton was the front-runner a few weeks into his Senior year and then the bottom fell out.  It's great to be excited about Robinson and the Wolverines, but let's slow dow on the Heisman talk and just let this kid grow into the football player we know he can become.

There is one major requirement to winning the Heisman or even getting the hype.  You actually have to suit up and take the field first.  The fact that he's missed now two games, his chances are getting slim at repeating this year.
